Is kiteboarding an easy sport to learn?​​​​​​​​​​​​​
Kitesurfing with a good instruction, most people learn to kitesurf very quickly. Without instruction, trying to learn kiteboarding can be frustrating and extremely dangerous for yourself and other beach users.

Do I need to be in good shape to kiteboard?​​​​​​​​​​​​​
All you require to kite surf is a basic level of fitness and be able to swim. The latest kitesurfing North gear​ can be adjusted to work for people with a broad range of physical abilities. Everyday people round the world learn to kiteboard, kitesurf and they are not all fit young people. Kitesurfing and kitesurfing lessons are a sport for all shapes, sizes and levels of fitness.
 
How many other people are on the group kitesurfing lesson?​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Why can't I learn to kite surf from the Internet, dvd's or a magazine?​​​​​​​​​​​​​
You can learn some basic kite surfing information and theory from these sources but they are no substitute for having an kitesurfing lesson and a IKO kitesurfing instructor to provide feedback, share local knowledge, maximize safety and customize instruction to your individual kitesurfing needs.
 
Do I need any Kite surfing skills prior to the lesson?​​​​​​​​​​​​​
No, come along and we'll take you through every kitesurfing thing you need to know. We will transform you from zero to hero in no time! You must be able to swim and being confident in the water will help - though our kite surfing lessons at Rhyl or Black rock sands there are lagoons so you will feel very safe because of the shallow water allowing you to stand up most of the time.
 
What Kite surfing lessons do you offer?​​​​​​​​​​​​​
We offer a number of different kitesurfing lessons. Taster sessions, one 2 one lessons and complete packages that will see you up and riding. Yes! The recipient will be delighted. You can purchase a specific kiteboarding lesson, block of kite surfing lessons or some credit towards their purchase in £25 blocks.
 
When is the best time to kiteboard in Wales?​​​​​​​​​​​​​
Rhyl is a very windy location​. With the right kitesurfing equipment you can kitesurf all year round. Most choose not to kite in the coldest part of the year - from mid November to mid Feb. The best months for kitesurfing and the wind are when the seasons are changing.
 
Is it cold in the water kite surfing in the UK?​​​​​​​​​​​​​
No, your wet suit will keep you snug and warm so you can kitesurf for longer. You will be very surprised when you start your kite surfing lessons how warm you get with all the exersise.
 
Why not learn to kite surf when I go abroad on holiday rather than in Wales?​
If you learn to kitesurf abroad you will not learn about the conditions at your local kite spot and meet the local kiteboarders. Often people go abroad to learn kiteboarding only to come back frustrated when the windy location they went to had too much wind for learning or not enough wind. Its very addictive when you start kite surfing you cant stop looking for wind.

Often we see kitesurf schools teaching people in unsuitable conditions, as they know you are only on holiday for a week or two and need to get your money from you before you go home. Beginners have little chance of learning in extreme wind and sea conditions. We only teach kitesurfing lessons when its ideal conditions for you to learn.
Our locations are ideally suited to learning as they do not have large shore breaks (dumps/grinders) for you to contend with.

What should I bring along to the kiteboarding lesson?​​​​​​​​​​​​​
You'll need trainers or sturdy footwear and maybe a waterproof coat if it looks like it might by showery for the land tuition. You might want to bring a snack or a drink. You should bring a towel and sunscreen too. For water based kite surfing lessons we'll supply all you need; wetsuit, kite, harness, helmet board and buoyancy aid so don't worry all this equipment will be supplied if necessary. ​

If you have your own wetsuit, booties, harness, helmet, buoyancy aid then your welcome to bring them.​
